All 20 chains

Kadena runs 20 chains in parallel, each braided to three others. The bar shows each chain's share of the last 24 hours of transactions; the thin line marks the average across chains.

What's in the latest transactions

Throughput says how many transactions there are, not who is sending them. This breaks down the most recent transactions by the contract function they call and the number of distinct senders.

Where the nodes run

Public Chainweb nodes found by a network crawler, placed by IP location. A node counts as in sync when its view of the chain is within a few blocks of the network tip.

How these are measured

Every number on this page comes from public sources and refreshes on its own. Nothing here is a forecast.

Throughput (TPS)

Transactions in all blocks created in the last 180 seconds, divided by 180. Refreshed every 10 seconds from the Chainweb GraphQL indexer.

First confirmation (TTFC)

Time from submitting a transaction until it is first included in a block. The median and 90th percentile are computed by the explorer's backend.

Active chains

A chain is active if it produced at least one block in the last 3 minutes.

Transactions, 24h

Successful transactions across all 20 chains over a rolling 24-hour window, with the per-chain split shown in the Chains section.

Transaction mix

The latest 500 transactions grouped by the first contract function they call. "Throughput without it" scales current TPS by the share of everything except the top function.

Nodes

Our crawler, run by Kadena Nexus and started from our Jeddah node, probes known Chainweb peers every 10 minutes. "Behind tip" compares each node's cut height with the highest one seen. Version is the Chainweb software the node reports, peers is how many other nodes it knows about, and response is its average answer time to our crawler, so it also reflects the distance between them. Uptime is the share of our checks it answered since we started tracking it.

Questions about the Kadena network

Short answers to what people most often ask about Kadena mainnet, pointing to the live figure on this page where there is one.

How many chains does Kadena have?

Kadena mainnet runs 20 chains in parallel. Each chain is braided to three others, so every block also references the latest blocks on its neighbors. The Chains section above shows all 20 live.

What is Kadena's block time?

Each chain targets one block every 30 seconds. With 20 chains, the network as a whole produces around 40 blocks a minute. The Block time figure at the top shows the live network average.

How fast is a Kadena transaction confirmed?

The First confirmation (TTFC) figure at the top shows the live median time from submitting a transaction until it is first included in a block. How many further blocks you wait for after that is up to the app or exchange.

How many transactions per second does Kadena handle?

The Throughput figure shows the live rate, counted over the last 3 minutes. The transaction mix section shows which contract functions those transactions call and how many distinct senders are behind them.

Where are Kadena nodes located?

The node map shows public Chainweb nodes found by a network crawler, placed by IP location, with whether each is in sync. Kadena Nexus runs one of them in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Is this a Kadena block explorer?

No. It is a live view of how the Kadena network is doing as a whole. To look up a specific account or transaction, use a Kadena block explorer such as the community Chainweb explorer or Denascan. The former explorer at explorer.kadena.io is no longer online. The monitor is free and needs no account or wallet.
